Project Spotlight - London Bridge Development

About Infrastructure Posted by Prater on January 26th 2016

Regular readers of our blog will be well aware of Prater’s involvement at the London Bridge redevelopment - having successfully completed Stage 1a on time and within the strict programme perimeters. Now with a new contract awarded to Prater, our Managing Director, Gavin Hamblett explains the next stage in the process.

Since November 2013, our teams have been on site at the fourth busiest station in the UK - London Bridge - carrying out the design, supply and installation of everything from the track-bed up.

Following our latest contract with Costain, it is now Prater’s responsibility to design, engineer and install a bespoke structural glazing system to meet the specification of the redevelopment, with the platform and street level system being installed along the St Thomas Street façade.

Additionally, a 260 m2 SU72 shopfront glazing screen will be added to the retail area. This will be introduced at a later phase of the project. The 10-week programme on the St Thomas façade is due to commence in late 2015, with the six-week SU72 installation currently scheduled for Summer 2017.

Our design and engineering teams are delighted to continue our successful relationship with Costain on such a famous London landmark. I have no doubt that through excellent collaborative working we will again be in a position to meet the project requirements.
