Prater has achieved Silver accreditation by the internationally recognised Investors in People. The organisation’s standard helps to define what it takes to lead, support and manage people well for sustainable results. Read on to find out more and hear from Human Resources Manager Jeanette Brazier about why this is great news for the Prater business.
Based on 25 years of leading practice, the Investors in People Standard is underpinned by a rigorous assessment methodology and framework. This reflects the very latest workplace trends, essential skills and effective structures required to outperform in any industry.
The standard is made up of nine indicators, each sitting under one of three criteria: Leading Supporting and Improving. Organisations are assessed on how closely they meet these criteria through a performance model of progression. There are four stages of progression: 'Developed', 'Established', 'Advanced' and 'High Performing'.
The results of the assessment underlined the importance Prater places on the development of staff. This was reflected in the feedback from Prater employees, who were surveyed as part of the audit and provided overwhelmingly positive feedback.
According to the report, 91% of respondents agreed that Prater is a “great place to work and has a bright future.” The standard of working conditions received particular recognition: “Uncompromising safety and meticulous efficiency are two of the company's core values and these are becoming well embedded in the culture with people saying they are encouraged to get things right and work safely.“
“We are thrilled to have achieved Silver accreditation,” said Jeanette Brazier. “Investors in People has long been recognised as the sign of excellence, a great employer and an outperforming place to work.
At Prater we are very proud of our people and culture. We focus on developing talent, encouraging apprenticeships, promoting from within and sponsoring many of our employees as they work to attain further education or Masters degrees. This latest accreditation from Investors in People is another positive milestone for our business and we will continue to benchmark ourselves to lead, support and manage people for sustained success.”
